Obviously, principles are worthless without practical application but activism based on fuzzy & ill-defined principles is counterproductive

So I think claiming to stand for justice does require you to have given a lot of thought to ur concept of justice & be able to argue for it

Therefore I defend talking about values in the abstract too even if you cannot straightforwardly apply them to every problem & solve it.

There does need to be thinking as well as acting & ideally the thinking comes first.

So, I have some essays coming up abt liberal values & how to apply them to certain issues & 'I don't know' features quite a lot.

Yeah, it depends on context, and it's absolutely worth discussing what people commonly mean by these terms and what we should mean by them.

e.g. Many people mean "retribution" by "justice," and that's not a very productive goal in general as one example.
