I think having firms publish data on their gender pay gap is an excellent idea provided that hours, position, qualifications etc are includedhttps://twitter.com/LotakX/status/850025204957020161 …

I agree, but 4 quite diff reasons. I actually don't think this is an issue worth ignoring. My reasoning:https://twitter.com/IonaItalia/status/849391629538664449 …

1/ #EqualPayDay thread I often hear ppl making fun of the idea that women earn only 75c 2 every male $1. But I think this is cause 4 concern

I'd certainly like to see more men taking some time out to look after kids. Shouldn't always be the woman.

For awhile my husband and I both worked part-time, doing childcare part-time. It made sense, I was earning fair amount, so we split it up.

Both needed employers to agree to the schedule, though. We were fortunate in that respect. Many would not be.

I'd be a bit concerned that it would undermine women's employability & feed into the whole socially conservative thing abt women at work.

But then, most women wouldn't need it & there should be some provision for women who do if they can predict when & cover can be assured.

You mean if it were written into law instead of handled on a case-by-case basis, as it is currently?
