No good just to report women do earn less. Show us why they do. See if any gap left after hours, position, qualifications etc accounted for

I agree, but 4 quite diff reasons. I actually don't think this is an issue worth ignoring. My reasoning:https://twitter.com/IonaItalia/status/849391629538664449 …
-
I'd certainly like to see more men taking some time out to look after kids. Shouldn't always be the woman.
-
For awhile my husband and I both worked part-time, doing childcare part-time. It made sense, I was earning fair amount, so we split it up.
-
Both needed employers to agree to the schedule, though. We were fortunate in that respect. Many would not be.
-
My friends who gave up work & their partners wd hv been much happier w that kind of an arrangement, but it wasn't possible.
-
There should be more part-time jobs in male dominated professions but then it is always going to be hard to juggle job & family.
-
It was hard any way we did it -- w/ other care, w/ us sharing it. But splitting was great nonetheless. We both got to feel the 'juggle'.
-
I worked evenings at first and my husband worked daytimes. That worked!

Have you read the guidance notes for this? It's literally advocating for discrimination
-
No. How?
-
-
Oh, positive discrimination. Tut.

we both know that the pay gap lobby will ignore that contextual data.

Yes! Show education/degrees, experience, years at the company, etc. Might make a difference, might not, but worth a look.
