Not really, that is, if you're going for consistency. Consistent atheism=Nihilism. Everything else is borrowed religious philosophy.

That doesn't make any sense. Religious people can have a range of politics & philosophies and so can non-religious people.

You might attribute all that is good to your god (good book on this is Everybody is Wrong about God) but ppl who don't still value things.

Everything else is just being human. Family, friends, pets, career, interests leisure etc.

Yes, you value things arbitrarily according to subjective standards,& have no claim to any inherent, enduring meaning. It's called Nihilism.

I don't think it is. I'm just a normal human being with normal human needs for partner, children, friends, love & intellectual pursuits.

I'm glad to hear that Helen. I'm sure you're a sweetie; the only thing is consistent atheism is a black hole of truth & meaning.

What is consistent atheism? People either have a god-belief or they don't. I don't. You can believe I'm mistaken about that one thing, obv.

And that its a very important thing to get right but I'm still not that different to you. We probably share most of our values.

Indeed. Here's the point: non-belief in God is a positive claim,i.e."I can have true knowledge about reality," or, "I have a working mind."

How is that the point? I don't believe in any god. One might exist. It doesn't affect anyone else & I support religious freedom.

If you believe in a god, this is probably more important to you because we are motivated by the things we do believe in.
