Of course I'm blocked for suggesting that its OK to ask female scientists to explain claims & provide evidence. This attitude is damaging.

Somehow it feels more hopeless when scientists say that asking for clear explanations & evidence of their claims is sexist.

Obviously, this would not be acceptable in their work but I'd hope, seemingly naively, that this would carry over into their politics.
