I'm probably being neurotic but we decreased his steroids a few days ago on vets advice & he said to look out for signs of discomfort.

He's on steroids for terminal cancer but we just reduced them. I will ask the vet about painkillers.

I don't mean to be alarmist, but our cat did this shortly before being diagnosed w/lung cancer. Time for a vet visit?

He's riddled with cancer. In his last weeks. He's subdued but not in obvious distress. This is new tho.

If it's fluid in the lungs, it can be drained, but you're just buying time. Which may or may not be worth it.

It's possible he has fluid in his lungs, but again, best to go to the vet if you haven't already been.

dogs dont have sweat glands so they pant like this to cool their body off. So he could be feeling overheated.

Doesn't look good. Our dog died of undiagnosed cancer and he went downhill so fast. So sorry. Looks a lovely boy.
