In real life, I'm surrounded by academic lefties & largely unengaged centrists for the most part. Very limited range of views & only English
-
I can read a lot of clever, knowledgeable ppl writing abt politics, religion, feminism etc but this is also limited & often a bit detached.
-
I like Twitter coz it gives me access to ppl not on one small patch of my little island & most arent academics or political journalists
-
Tho they might direct me to some I'm very grateful to have been made aware of.

And its helpful having such a variety of ppl w different views following me coz then I anticipate different objections.
-
And sometimes that causes me to change my mind before I even tweet anything coz it makes me think things thru more
-
I admit I used to do a bit too much looking for people to be outraged by but finding ppl with very different views who aren't nuts is great
