      The principles of free speech are that we debate & criticise ideas, not shout each-other into submission.

      I don't really know what you mean by that. Principles aren't protected by the constitution, rights are.

      The constitution is an American legal thing. The principle of free speech is a liberal concept.

      Yes, your constitution protects some aspects of the principle in a very limited way.

      It does not define free speech. Other countries also have the concept.

          Yes. Many countries have laws around free speech. That doesn't mean the laws *are* free speech.
