looking for books, I am looking for topics I like, titles and themes and summaries that look interesting.
Such gesture is pretty insulting. Are they suggesting that if books by female authors are display side by side with
books by male authors their books will be overlooked?
i agree with your points. Most people would have multiple experiences of picking books without knowing the author.
Absolutely. Some books have their author's name in a big font so it's easy to notice, but many times it can also be
very inconspicuous. Who actually consciously checks if an author is male or female? Not regular readers, I bet.
