My favourite fiction writers are mostly female. Maybe more women are more likely to provide the psychological depth that I like. Not sure.

This suggestion that ppl won't notice female authors unless male ones are hidden is insulting. Women have an advantage in verbal ability.

'fiction gender gap' or 'fictional gender gap'. This would have absolutely been labeled sexist if the genders were reversed.
-
as someone who likes books and book stores this is not fair to the customers, authors and publishers.
-
It would be a total pain in the arse too.
-
ofcourse, browsing books is what people do at a book store.
-
If a store does that I will never frequent again. I don't generally check who and what gender the author is when I am
-
looking for books, I am looking for topics I like, titles and themes and summaries that look interesting.
-
Such gesture is pretty insulting. Are they suggesting that if books by female authors are display side by side with
-
books by male authors their books will be overlooked?
