2/2 foetus is obv not physically or mentally identical to an autonomous human. So what makes it equal in pro-life view, other than soul?

It seems that pro-life argument has to argue foetal equality from the angle of essence or soul. Cannot do so from consciousness at least...

... for quite a while into pregnancy. Also other organisms are arguably conscious and we don't argue their lives are equal to human ones.

There's also the tendency to see stopping a pregnancy as worse than not starting one even tho the consequences are the same...

I think this is related to the 'loss aversion' bias we have where 'taking away' is seen as worse than 'not giving.'
