People are so confused about choice & ethics. Something being a choice does not, in itself, tell us whether its a good or bad one ethically

I used to spend a lot of time trying to get religious conservatives to see that even if being gay was a choice, that wldn't make it bad.

Me too. I might find it silly. But from a liberal perspective, there needs to be an abuse of freedom or some inequality.

Scepticism & rationalism can say that. Liberalism is the ethical bit. Religious ppl can be liberal.
