Aside from the slut-shaming element of 'modest fashion', I am at a loss to understand how it works logically.

The head is already covered by hair. The body is already covered by skin. These are usually dull & plain in shades of brown, beige, yellow.
-
How is covering these in bright colours and bling as 'modest fashion' does unassuming, unostentation & downplaying?https://twitter.com/IFDC_/status/836612175552630784 …

I don't think there's anything wrong with dramatic, showy & eye-catching fashion. I was a goth, ffs, but I can't see anything modest abt it.

If you really wanted to be unassuming, unostentatious & downplay your attractiveness, wear jeans, a tee-shirt & put your hair in a ponytail

Here's me getting married. Look how modest I am. Hair covered. Body covered wrist to ankle. I was going for 'Queen of the Damned'pic.twitter.com/IYEjb5i10y

Awesome :) Were you married in church? I'd love to know what the vicar thought of the dress if you were
-
Of course not. I was married on Friday the 13th, much occult, vampiric & Satanic symbolism.
-
Excellent. Lots of people have diabolical weddings. But usually not on purpose

To me modesty means owning only one pair of shoes - not more, not less. I think that's something we will all be able to agree on
