      I'm guilty of raising a 'colour-blind' child. I remember being very pleased about this when she was about 6. Someone knocked on the door. 1

      She looked out of the window & said it was our (white) neighbour. It wasn't. Was a black man of same build & baldness selling windows. 2

          I'm not sure how obvious it is. Colour. If not significant. I often fail to notice someone's lightened or darkened their hair.
