I'm guilty of raising a 'colour-blind' child. I remember being very pleased about this when she was about 6. Someone knocked on the door. 1

Didn't teach her about diff sexualities either. She just knew most ppl had opposite sex partner, some same sex. Homophobia bewildered her. 5

I'm a terrible colour-blind lib but racism wld be gone in a generation if every1 raised kids not to notice race specifically.

Kids will often refer to "the boy with the blue sweater" who is the only black kid in the class. How it should be.

Great example, just now -https://twitter.com/globeandmail/status/838160937219674112 …

I will say this: it is a little odd that she could not tell the obvious difference between the two individuals
-
I'm not sure how obvious it is. Colour. If not significant. I often fail to notice someone's lightened or darkened their hair.
-
But hair is not as noticeable as skin, come on. We are not featureless spirits, only identified by our mental identity through
-
telepathy. Sure, some features are more noticeable than others, and different people may have different levels of perception,
-
but for color blindness to become literal -more than just a useful term to encapsulate non-discrimination on the basis of
-
skin color-. is kind of getting worrying, if it gets to a wide-scale trend with people beyond childhood.
