I wouldn't like to say whether men or women face greater disadvantages on the grounds of their sex but this isn't being evasive.

I think it's clear that society is much more concerned about the way women are disadvantaged & social expectations placed upon women.
-
And this is a problem which often leads many ppl doing utmost to prioritise unbiased gender equality to spend more time on men's issues.
-
Because the dominant gender activism, academic theories & wider society are neglecting these.
-
We do need to notice that MGM still legal, men are treated more harshly by criminal law, homelessness, suicide, illiteracy affect men more.
-
But so much now comes down to gendered expectations & there its so often two sides of the same coin.
-
Are men privileged by the fact society does not expect them to give up work, reduce hrs or become less reliable after kids or disadvantaged?
-
This entirely depends on whether a man wants to keep focusing on career after becoming father or wld like a better work/life balance.
-
If he is, great. If a partner wants more work/life balance, perfect. If a man wants to help raise his kids & a woman focus on career -harder
-
But we have a society in which we have the right to defy gendered expectations & this is probably the best way to defeat them.
