Opposing cultural relativity does not require refusing to acknowledge that cultural norms have a huge impact on people's values.

If I was born in the middle ages, I'd almost certainly be a Christian. If I lived 100 years ago, I'd probably be racist & sexist.

Its about getting people to evaluate different value systems on their merits rather than consider 'culture' a justification in itself

You can't blame ppl for the cultures they came from. You can if they perpetuate their harmful ideas having been shown the problem.

I believe that cultures which give women, LGBTs etc the same rights & freedoms as straight men are better than ones that don't.
