how should schools verify that a kid gets to be an exception to the dress code due to their religion?
I'm not following. Where do we differ? I'm saying we shouldn't allow it for one group. No-one has to go first.

Yes, but I'd be very concerned if the step was to give one group in society rights another did not have. Thats a step backwards
