nah, you're just using a common derailing tactic and trying to shift the blame for your bad faith engagement onto me, byehttps://twitter.com/HPluckrose/status/835570030960070659 …

Perhaps your recognition of the problem with generalisations is not obvious if ppl are feeling a need to point out #NotAllMen

Yes. Ppl say generalisations are bad so much coz they think generalisations are bad.https://twitter.com/hpluckrose/status/835569330884587520 …

If ppl say #NotAllMen to feminists so much it becomes a whole thing, perhaps this indicates a common attitude that needs addressing?

#notallmen intentionally avoids the point. It's pervasive enough to be a problem. That's the point.

Then that's the point to be made. It's obscured by collective blame being placed on a whole group.

Sex offenders are the problem, not men. Islamists, not Muslims. Homophobes, not straight ppl. Misandrists, not feminists etc

but it's NOT limited to those people. Not all who share a mindset act in that mindset. The behavior is the symptom.

Still about intention. Only worth targeting men & women who believe that. The attitude not the gender identity.

but it's an incredibly common mindset. It's the norm. Treating the exception as the norm is apologist and undermines the issue.

I disagree. I think the vast majority of men & women value gender equality & oppose sexual abuse.

that's echo chamber logic and the result of confirmation bias. Maybe among the people you know sure. Globally? That's rich.

Not globally, no! Certainly not. I'm talking abt western society. Polls show 80- 90% support for gender equality.

My main energies have been directed at religiously-motivated sexism coz that seems to be the strongest correlation.

Intention is everything because that's what needs changing - behaviour. Not immutable characteristics or cultural groups.
