Yes, I agree but I don't think being male is an advantage in itself anyway.
Yes, but the consensus is that the wage gap disappears when adjusted for same job, same hours, same level.

I always understood that this still doesn't quite cover all of the differences, so sorry, I'm probably wrong.
-
In the studies that I have read 1-3% gap remains unexplained but none of them were in the Netherlands.
-
But I'd be interested if you come across anything which suggests differently. No need for 'sorry.' Hope I didn't sound hostile?

The Dutch statistics bureau
@statistiekcbs says part of the difference remains unexplained, but not necessarily privilege 1/2 -
That's consistent with economists I've read in US &UK.

I'll include a source but it's in Dutch https://www.cbs.nl/nl-nl/nieuws/2016/47/krijgen-mannen-en-vrouwen-gelijk-loon-voor-gelijk-werk- … and sometimes refers back to 2014.

It sounds as tho its saying much the same as analyses I've read - gap almost disappears & is prob due to diff choices & attitudes.
-
although I have to admit I always get annoyed by the notion women earn less because they don't negotiate / fight for it as hard.
