Sometimes ppl like to tell me they never take painkillers when they learn that I take a variety of them. As if this is a virtue.

Maybe not. U might have good reasons. But if ur reason is 'so I can tell everyone I'm not taking painkillers whilst in great pain', lol @ u.
-
I think sometimes when one can pay attention to what is causing pain and adapt accordingly to alleviate that's great...
-
...When that is not possible I see no virtue in just remaining in pain.

I generally work on:"If it's self (alcohol, stupidity) inflicted, MTFU, if it's fixed by sleep try that. then try pain killers."
-
Ha! You'll punish yourself for self-inflicted pain?
-
Or the *much* more common, drinking too much and not rehydrating properly.
-
Still amusing. I'm imagining you telling yourself sternly 'You have only yourself to blame! Let this be a lesson to you!'
-
Pretty much, though not vocally,
@catgirl28 enjoys that part too much.....

no doubt people who don't take pain killers believe that everything that is 'natural' is better
-
This can be one (silly) reason but more often I hear 'I can handle it!' as if its a personal pride thing.

For me that catches 99% of things, which probably makes me extremely lucky!
