It's possible to have sympathy for someone without being in sympathy with their ideas. I think that's a good thing & ppl are confusing them.

Then they will translate their concern for, eg marginalised groups into moral cultural relativity & assume that ppl who don't, don't care.

Equally, they will assume that ppl who urge kindness to or at least the cessation of a dogpile on someone must share their values or ideas.

I really think this underlies a lot of misunderstanding between (universal) liberals & the far-left at the moment.

agree but think media type utilised (Twit &FB) removes the 'considered ideas'. You're left with battle grounds

but the middle 40% are just as responsive to the right as to the left.

moderate rights have no fear (imo) of challenging the theory we have too much/too little/just right immigration.
