It seems many ppl are in favour a strong moderate centre to oppose far-right &far-left as long as centre of centre is seen as where they are

Strong moderate centre? Finding a toffee in the middle of your chocolate? I prefer right and wrong. Evidence led politics.

Everyone thinks they prefer right & wrong. People arguing for a strong moderate centre think that's what is ethically right.

Ethically right by what measure? By rational measure homeopathy is worthless, by some 'ethical' measures it has value. 1/2

I prefer the blunt rational measure. Not a fan of politicians of any stripe promoting nonsense for feel good ethical reasons.2/2

'Moderate' is slippery. And going by British political history it often does go with irrational thinking and irrational policy.

Um. Tricky. How are you measuring? Quantity? Quality? The mainstream 'moderate' world is full of very bad and deadly ideas too.

eg the extreme view 'deport all non-white people' is less reasonable than moderate 'restrict immigration & vet immigrants'
