Pre-agricultural revolution, lots of stuff wore out around then. Figure tribal elders were in the 40-50 range if lucky.

Yes, that was my understanding 2. There was an *average* life span of 40ish, but that's bcoz so many died in infancy.

Most did in medieval times. Population grew slowly but 15 pregnancies were normal.
