Why wld our teeth be set to kill us 30 years before the rest of us wears out?

Pre-agricultural revolution, lots of stuff wore out around then. Figure tribal elders were in the 40-50 range if lucky.

Is that true? I was given to understand that our natural life-span always averaged 70 with a cap of 120.

And that shorter life spans were generally due to childbirth, war & disease cutting the natural span short.

Yes, that was my understanding 2. There was an *average* life span of 40ish, but that's bcoz so many died in infancy.

Most did in medieval times. Population grew slowly but 15 pregnancies were normal.

I think the mean is usually taken from ppl over ten.
