Why is it people who tell me I don't understand feminism or a branch of it or an idea in it have so often only read a dictionary definition?

The problem goes into applied unproven academic theories into real life. There is scant data & most comes from the soft studies.

Intersectionalism started in literature theory, and is now being applied to life with not enough rigor applied.

I studied history, lit, & cultural critique. The luminaries in those fields do not try to dictate policy or make conclusions.

academics are free to advocate for policy/awareness; issue is misinterpretations outside field

They can, but using literature theory based on a rough framework with minimal postmodern rigor is precarious.
