I don't think its as easy as many people claim to separate ideas from people because ideas are held by people. Powerless on their own.

We simply don't bother to criticise ideas that no-one holds. But I think it is important to only blame people for ideas they do hold.

And the principle of criticising the idea, not the person is good even if u accept the person's personality influences the ideas they hold.

Some ppl hold religious ideas very literally because they are very literal people but it still make a huge difference what the idea is.
