I might have met them & agreed with them on free speech thing & not realised they had no other principles at all.

That would make them tedious to follow. Shld really be part of a larger set of values including free exchange having positive results

My support of freedom of speech is part of a larger liberalism which has an aim centred in profiting from shared ideas & diff views.

I support freedom of speech for everyone but I do see certain ideas as more worthy than others & am critical of certain speech.
