Coz that's the difference between cancer & neurosis. Becomes illness when u can't cope
V difficult for them coz some percentage really do have these problems & require allowances.

But students w/ clinical diagnoses find all the self-diagnosed students very hard to cope with
-
very understandable.

Yes, yng woman overcoming eating disorder & self-harm told me she feels they're playing at it.

To be interesting. To have a marginalised identity. They don't want to get better.
-
Like she did. Doesn't understand how they can revel in something which nearly killed her.
-
But it wld be awful to dismiss someone like her thinking they were like the 'identity' ppl.
-
Yes. This was my fear.

Ah
That's disturbing. But I wonder (I don't know how this works on uni's) does one not require a -
note of some sort for this to be taken into account?
-
Admin requires it, yes, and this leads to many accusations of ableism & disbelieving students.
-
Ah. I see. Emotional blackmail. I would argue that a physical illness requires the same though?
-
That wld show ur prejudice re: the mentally ill. Not all illnesses show! Assume lying! Ableist
-
Yes. I get that. But a insurance company requires this too. Schools should be able to as well
-
They do. But are still influenced by this. Its not universities which promote this tho.
-
It's student groups, online sites etc. They then bring pressure to bear & line blurs.
