Why?
I'm not claiming a consensus on whether or not solipsism is interesting.

But we have strayed very far from the point and its getting late. My point is that scepticism is about epistemology -
-
A way of thinking abt knowledge & ways to obtain it that focuses on evidence, probability & provisional acceptance of hypotheses.
-
In contrast to a way that focuses on belief without evidence, on faith & subjective truth which does not require evidence.
-
To function, we all need to rely on evidence a great deal. Even the most postmodern postmodernist will check they've been paid.
-
Even the most devout defender of religious faith will want evidence that their child has done her homework.
-
A sceptic is someone who tries to think consistently in terms of evidence & probability & provisional hypotheses & usually does.
-
But might sometimes fail. Eg, I might really want to believe my child innocent of a crime despite all evidence she was guilty.
