But speech doesn't harm you. Ppl must not force others to listen to it
Not sure I agree speech isn't harmful but it's rare to see harm actually being mentioned during a discussion on free speech.
Hmm. Not sure abt that. I see ppl claiming words are literally violence, make ppl unsafe etc
Generally, if someone is planning to say something you don't like somewhere you don't have to be, deal with it.
That way you can avoid direct harm, but speech can lead to harm indirectly. Incitement to violence for example. Or propaganda.
Incitement to violence is already illegal and not covered under freedom of speech. Propaganda is subjective.
And some would argue that's an infringement of freedom of speech rights. I don't btw. Also a problem of explicit vs implicit.
Haven't read anything on Patheos since. The crowd there was going hard SJW and getting ppl fired, etc.
Oh no! I didn't know of this. Will check it out.
Indeed, freedom of speech is meant to protect unpopular speech. Otherwise, it wouldn't need protecting.
Tried to say something similar on a Patheos blog comment last yr - comment was downvoted until hidden.
