I see so much tribalism in accusations of hypocrisy. I am only accountable for consistency in my own stated views. Not everyone else's.

I do not become a hypocrite if I say something inconsistent with something said by someone else of my gender, race, nationality or politics

Ppl who hold all white people & men accountable for racism & sexism will be the first to object to ppl judging feminism & BLM by bad apples

I feel the pull of tribalism very strongly. I find myself making the most charitable interps of ppl I like & uncharitable 1s of ppl I don't

This leads me to try to be charitable to everyone. Then I get called gullible & naive. I don't know the solution to this.

It must be comforting to fall into soft embrace of tribe. Vigilance of own bias is stressful, love that you try .I prefer beer.
