I think many men assume the "Women's March" is supposed to be women-only, which is why it was a bad name for the main anti-Trump march. https://twitter.com/feministabulous/status/819305982866165762 …

I was never confused. People who make assumptions WO looking at facts are how we got here in the first place.
-
Well, the fact is 'Women's March' means 'a march that belongs to women' so people will think it's that.
-
ok, you already said that.
-
Yes, it's my only point here. It's a very simple one but you seem to want to find nefarious motives.
-
Nope, I see you care about equality so Im curious why you don't question those claiming a name as an excuse to not participate
-
I would question ppl saying 'It says women so I'm not coming even tho I know I can.' That's not what Chait said or I thought.
-
I think men who absolutely would come if they knew they could are *genuinely* taking the name of the march at face value.
-
I have read several articles about this march and never once got an indication that men could attend too.

Yes, it is partly FOR women. FOR women's right, FOR women's safety, etc. But that doesn't mean (1)

that men can't or shouldn't stand up for those things as well. (2)

Yes, I've been made aware that men are wanted in a supportive capacity now. I didn't realise at first.

Sometimes women want a space for themselves & signify this by calling it a woman's group or event.
