Like all religions, it branches and evolves, shaping itself around cultural shifts & world events & changing theology.

There will never be a 'true Islam' - interpretations & sects have been diversifying since shortly after the prophet's death

I don't think any religion now is a true religion. Quite simply... it's about showing love and compassion and being benevolent

Its great when ppl attribute those things to religion or draw those bits from it. But this is less than half the story.

I'm less cynical than you. I think most ppl who do harm in the name of religion do so coz they think it saves people.

If ppl who disbelieved in God actually were tortured for all eternity, wldn't it be morally right to make this a crime?

To kill those people spreading those ideas & prevent them from damning others? To convert by force for their own good?

killing someone is a negative attribute so I don't believe we should kill ppl to save others. Killing is universally forbidden

It's not tho, is it? There are rules set out for it in religious texts and they often relate to what ppl believe.
