Of course not. But that is how I understand religion to differ from other ideologies. Supernatural & a moral code.
Im wary of broadening the description of religion to cover secular irrational belief for two reasons.

1) I study religion as a specific social phenomenon. 2) Really want to keep supernatural claims distinct from other wierrdness

Oh I wouldn't begin to conflate the 2 in regards to academic categorization.That would become a social/organizational nightmare!

Absolutely. A response to psychological & social needs we all have. Everybody is Wrong abt God looks at religion like this.
