I'd also point out women's individuality not compromised by being the childbearers. Only puts us out of action for few wks @jordanbpeterson

You cant lump 'childbearers' with 'childrearers' & make both only doable by women. Fathers do the latter all the time. jordanbpeterson

Also Prof Peterson clearly under great physical & emotional strain. I'll await what he writes/says next to understand his views better.

I think he's fundamentally a humanist, with obvious distortions due to him trying to squeeze it into his Christianity.
-
Humanist, yes, in the current sense and in the sense of the renaissance and the 'many-sided man.'
-
In only he dropped "divine plans", he'd be less worried about ppl (and women in particular) doing whatever they want.
-
And his pessimism about society collapsing would dissipate.
-
I'm feeling a bit pessimistic that way, myself, tbh. No divine plans necessary. Humans are enough.

I haven't followed his work at all either. Just followed him on Twitter the other day since he'll be on Harris's podcast.
-
The fact he uses the term "self-authoring" makes me wary, since self-authorship is an idea related to libertarian free will.
-
Also to renaissance humanism tho which is something I got very strongly from his stuff about individualism.

I dug him on Joe Rogan's podcast, then I saw some of the company he keeps, and that old sexually uptight C.S. Lewis vibe.

I like him a lot, but do find he takes as fact some pretty subjective ideas (Freud's ego/id, etc). Clearly a sharp mind tho.
