J.S. Mill would not approve of unreasoned social suasion of that form and I believe we can and should do better.
But that won't work coz they're not arguing fornication bad cos birth control & abortion don't exist.

Actually, if you listen to Islamic scholars there is a sincere concern to keep child-bearing to stable couples.

In a liberal society each individual chooses. The point is that pervasive social control on this is outmoded.

My point is that we owe our fellow members of society reasoned arguments for them to change their habits.

Rather than inveighing against the stink of meat, a vegetarian would be better arguing on the basis of land use.

I don't see an either/or situation. Ppl can make reasoned arguments whilst not hiding distaste for meat.

They can, but the distaste aspect is counterproductive. Intellectual laziness/decadence doesn't often persuade.
