@HPluckrose Read your essay on no longer identifying as a feminist. What role do you think the Internet has had on changing feminism?

That's an essay in itself. And one I should write. *makes note* Mostly, it's increased factionalism & in-fighting.

I'd be curious what you think would have happened to differently with Feminism if the Internet never came about.

same thing that happened to religion, it would have spread much more easily. Who doesn't support equality.

But I think we're thinking of feminism as an ideology &a movement rather than a general aim for gender equality

Oh I know, I was just saying that if there was no internet, all they would need to say is that statement.

Not sure I follow you? It comes from the universities mostly & theories get increasingly complex.

Oh! Are you saying we'd be less able to see the problems & more likely to fall for 'its just about equality'

If so, I agree. Was going to say to @possiblyben that feminism faces more criticism now that we can all see what's happening

But then saw he was asking abt how feminism itself changed & its become more defensive & factional cos of this

As it is now, we can show soundclips, movies and the like showing that patriarchy theory is bullshit

For example, the statments "men have inherent privilege" leads to: why help men, they already are privileged.

Yes. The inherent problem with coming at gender equality from the perspective of one gender.

Yeah, I mean MGTOW is a cult in the other direction, but feminism is itself a cult too.

If no interent existed feminism would be able to say its about equality, and nobody would be able to say otherwise
