Thanks to people who recommended it. I'm sure you're right & it is excellent. However, I cannot tell so gonna try The Sopranos. XD

Have rewatched with subtitles. They're not going to help. It's like some kind of postmodern riddle to me.pic.twitter.com/RTgXbweVLM

Like postmodern art where a cabbage has been placed on a bicycle w the word 'cunt' written on it &everyone except me goes 'ahh' meaningfully
-
I'm sure its not. Just context that completely escapes me.

No, I'll leave it. I don't actually need to watch it. I just wanted to try it. Can easily try something else. The Sopranos, I think.

you can turn on subtitles. I am serious. It's astonishing TV.

I wish real world Baltimore also had subtitles. I have no idea what anyone says there.

This surprises me! Brit dialects notoriously difficult even for Brits. I'm used to understanding Americans!
-
English is not my first language. Found most UK accents relatively ok. B’more was incomprehensible.

That's very reassuring!

I had trouble with the first 6-7 episodes. It's amazing if you're patient with it
-
I don't think its really my thing anyway, tbh.

Closed Caption Subtitles...

Don't think I can summon enough enthusiasm. I'll try something else.

There's no shame in turning on the subtitles (or downloading some). After a few episodes, your ear will acclimatise.

Husband can't do subtitles. I've just been trying & I get the words but not how they make coherent exchanges & a plot.
