I'd say 'small talk' for women tends to be abt events but mostly ppl & for men events but mostly things.

We also see this in magazine and crappy TV aimed at men & women. When it gets to the big ideas, much more even.

However, even then, at a gathering, men more likely to focus on one topic & do it thoroughly whilst women explore.
