It's odd that since I stopped actively trying to be intensely rational & logical about everything, I have become more intuitively reasonable
Now people will take issue w/ 'intuitively' & point out that it's the opposite of reasonable but that wld be to focus on words too literally
-
-
What I mean is that relying on a natural tendency to need ideas to work & worry at them until I find what I need to change to make them work
-
actually produces sounder results for me than learning a lot about the steps, principles of logical reasoning etc. They don't sink in well.
-
So I'll never be an intensely logical thinker like some of the Vulcan-like philosophers/thinkers I talk to & admire.
-
But I'm OK with that as long as I have a fairly good success rate at seeing why my own ideas & other ppls don't add up in a conversation.
-
I want to be a Vulcan

I wouldn't. Intuition is just quick-thinking basically. We use it constantly for rote action, most notably social interaction.
-
You were the person I thought might take issue with the word 'intuition' & I might be using it wrongly.
-
I'm referring to a natural tendency to worry at things that don't work until I see why which works best if I do it my way.
-
A trial and error and experience thing rather than a formal logic thing tho there is considerable overlap.Reinventing the wheel
-
I think that's totally reasonable.
-
You do?! OK, good. XD Often ppl will tell me that what I'm saying has a name & a better explanation but that's good!
-
I'm no expert either ftr. :p
