I am not opposing denying a platform to some1 coz no-one's interested, they have no expertise, they are an aardvark.

There are very many good reasons to be choosy about who you platform. Criteria is necessary. I am criticising one very specific criteria.

That is when someone is prominent on a subject she is well-qualified in & there is demand for her ideas but the ideas are controversial.
