Been told a few times lately that I need to reserve terms like 'denial of freedom of speech' 'authoritarian' & 'censorious' to law & gov.
It tends to be ppl concerned that words like 'white supremacy' & 'misogyny' are losing power due to overuse so not really.

Tho some ppl opposed to 'freedom of speech' being used to criticise no-platformers certainly have that motivation.

I agree with your arg though and I'm quite happy to use 'authoritarian' to refer to attitudes.

Also, I find it annoying how they seem to think if they can stop you from using a word, then the problem doesn't exist.

Yeah, that's why I'm thinking abt it openly coz I agree with them on that so worth considering if this same kind of thing
