They can still talk! Wouldn't ban books, talks, tv etc.
We're talking in abstract principles here. Reality has far more variables which need considering.

Me too. I tend to focus a bit too much on principles & not enough on practicality sometimes.

But I think with things like freedom of speech, you have to think situationally. It simply can't exist everywhere.

Or you'd have ppl discussing torture porn in primary schools, basket-weaving at medical conventions, no work getting done.

My concern is just making sure RELEVANT(environment appropriate) views are not being censored/punished

Exactly. So if we try to apply freedom of speech principles to things which have many other factors, doesn't work.
