Yep, however Lanyer counters this by arguing that Christ turned to women when men betrayed him & this redeemed them. Men needed to catch uphttps://twitter.com/Elishabenabuya/status/806840571327299584 …

.@LotakX You could do a lot with theological gender traits & evolutionary psychology. So much depends on the framing.
I'm planning an essay looking at 'mansplaining' in Christian history & relating it to an equivalent 'womanscolding' & 'womanwaffling.'
Theology tells us nothing abt god, obv, but it tells us a lot abt how ppl have consistently seen men & women's innate natures.
And much of it backs up what evolutionary psychology tells us and stereotypes today.
Theological writing might not call wanting to show & assert your knowledge 'mansplaining' but it addresses it & associates it with men.
It equally associates scolding, not saying what you mean and taking forever to get to the point with women.
Really, if you want uncharitable readings of different modes of communication which are gendered, MRAs & feminists have nothing on Xtianity.
With the whole adam and eve section I would have thought that forbidden knowledge seeking would have for women
No. Eve is presented as tempted by the taste & texture. Adam as wanting knowledge only God should possess.
Nothing suggests that Adam ate it cos knowledge.
Theological writing ever since does.
Hard to encapsulate gendered sins & their relation to Adam & Eve on Twitter. Starts with Paul & Augustine.
