No they're true libertarians. You can believe that and still be pretty open and accepting of other religions and points of view.
Ok but this is a different point to the one I'm considering which is whether libertarianism is a personality trait.

And whether belief in a good God who punishes wrongthink suggests it isn't but specifically a political position
-
God obviously is not a libertarian cos he's neither open minded nor tolerant but some libertarians consider him good.
-
Previous conversation suggests they think of him more as a force of nature than a super-king whose ethics can be judged.

Openness is definitely a personality trait, it is one of the five axes of personality.
-
So is someone who thinks it's good for God to punish wrongthink open in a way that would fit with libertarianism?
-
Well if they do believe that and are open, they would be tolerant of other beliefs, and would be able to change that belief
-
We're talking abt their own belief that a God who punishes wrongthink is doing the right thing morally.
-
Obv many libertarians don't believe in this kind of God or don't think abt or justify hell for ppl with different views.
-
But I'm thinking abt some I've met who do & what this means.
-
... and don't want it legislating a different morality than they believe in.
-
But they defend the rights of ppl to live by different moral codes in real life.

Libertarianism is not a personality trait, but I'm thinking it is statistically associated with personality
-
There's a disconnect & im trying to work out where but doesn't require thinking ppl of any relig or polit posit are bad.
