But I suspect you are right & they do use this thinking. It just doesn't work if they are actually right.

If they actually got to heaven with same psychology as now & saw ppl being tortured for thoughtcrime, they'd see the problem.

Ideally, they'd probably want everyone's God to be real for them but can't say this coz their god has the 'One True God' rule.

I absolutely agree with that. And they almost take that attitude in life despite not thinking it's true.

They are VERY slippery on Hell, too. They will dodge at any cost, or try and make it seem more palatable, or avoid etc

Yes! That is why I am always surprised when I meet one who believes & justifies their god punishing thought-crime horribly!

I think they see it more almost like a "law of nature" than as a "person" with rules.

Like they don't think "it's so unfair I have to follow the 'eat food' rule or I'll die", it's just the way it is.

We are looking at God as basically a really powerful King. I don't think they see it like that. Haha.

I'd be interested to see the rate of apostasy among libertarians. High among LGBTprob due to motivation to question & doubt.

I doubt its as easy as looking up stats on religious ID among ppl who ID as libertarians in relation to the psychology I mean.

My instinct would say it would be lower. Being auth means you have more conversations with others, more conflict.

Interesting! But I probably conflate libertarianism with individualism too much. As a Christian, my conflict was with God!
