@Liam_Smith1990 So no, I don't think you should for that, but doing it in a mosque during their prayers..That's a different line @HPluckrose
I do. A peaceful protest is the right way to air your grievance. Even if we don't think it justified. I want to be able to do that

I don't call that peaceful.
-
Can we chant & burn things safely?
-
Yes! Have already said that multiple times!
-
So what wasn't peaceful?
-
I think they were attempting to incite violence. It obviously didn't work. But I think that is the intention.
-
Look at what the judge said. What at what he found them guilty of. Insulting the dead etc

I also think if their aim was to pull UK soldiers out of current conflics, then chanting "Burn in Hell" wont help.
-
No, I don't think it helps at all. I still defend their right to think it & say it.
-
The "it doesn't help" is what makes me think that act was malevolent. That is my point.
-
But a lot of activism doesn't help. I don't think we can evaluate that way - will your protest achieve your aims.
-
I'm sure Democrat protest on the Trump election didn't help but they must still be able to do it as long as no violence or crime
-
The "no crime" bit that's hard when discussing what law should be ;) Gets a bit circular...
-
Obviously, I'm arguing it shouldn't become a crime to march, speak or safely burn symbols.
-
And I don't disagree with that argument. Just that specific example of it.

As I say, it's a blurred line, and we differ on where this act sits within that.
