I think point is that ppl claim that being a housewife is demeaning / sexist / gender stereotype. But workplace isn't much fun.

Which people? SHow me. I see loads of ppl saying feminists say this but no feminists saying it since 80s & 90s radfems.
-
Didn't Julie Bindel say something like that too? https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/video/2016/may/25/women-face-it-marriage-can-never-be-feminist-video …
-
Yep. That's the branch of 80s & 90s radfems. The intersectionals who dominate now no-platform and vilify them.
-
why being a stay at home mother doesn't mean you aren't a feminist.
-
That's what the whole 'choice' thing was about. 'We want women to have the choice' - not force them in opposite direction.
-
That they have to defend being a housewife shows that there are some feminists that consider it sexist or "gender stereotype"
-
Yes! Its a radfem thing. But they don't dominate. Recognised as loons by nearly everyone including mainstream liberal feminism.

Correlation of those trends w/work is very iffy. Also, just b/c full-time homemakers are more often satisfied w/their role...
-
doesn't mean other women would be satisfied in that role.
-
This is my point.I do love it when ppl tell me how much happier I'd be if I focused on domestic stuff exclusively. I'd go nuts

Do you not think that, on average, men and women prefer different work/life balances?
-
Yes, I do.
-
My experience - I've known brilliant woman scientists, and I've also known women with PhDs who just want to raise families.
-
Hard to explain myself in a couple of tweets -but I just want people to have the freedom to do what they want.
-
I agree, as long as it applies to both women and men

.
@HPluckrose Women can choose to not work, stay at home, have kids and be happy. Men can then choose to have this setup at home to be happy -
If they find a man who agrees to this. But I agree that women are the sex considered to have the right to choose.
-
Not in the present legal climate. Marriage is legal suicide for a man with poorer odds of success than a casino.

People belittle being a housewife and they say that being a "career woman" is all important.
