So glad I have finally persuaded the husband into getting a boa constrictor. We couldnt have got a baby if we'd left it much longer.

I didn't realise how sexually dimorphic they are. Fully grown males - 6 ft & 15lbs. Fully grown females - 8 ft & 50lbs.
-
They were the lengths of my pair but I don't think she was that heavy. Still tricky to manage tho. & stroppy. I prefer males.

When fully grown do they ever "constrict" their owners or do you just get a friendly cuddle squeeze?
-
Not even the largest females are strong enough to constrict humans. They cling. Not much pressure & easily unwound.
-
I'm genuinely interested. So they don't crush. With larger animals though do they stop it breathing or starve it to death?
-
They stop prey animals from breathing. They don't have the strength to crush them.

If you have to ask, the answer must be "Yes".
