I still think there's a right answer to the 'god' question & it matters. But other things matter too & they get lost if ur single-minded.

I still want to argue that faith is a very bad way of thinking & that religion is silly & harmful & that we must be allowed to say this.

But you miss out on so many other conversations if you reduce everything to this & its also often counterproductive if u want to change it.

I want to be able to discuss common ground & religious freedom & faith schools & religious privilege & liberalism & extremism etc

it also might help people understand where we're coming from, why it seems so bad from our point of view.

What I mean abt it needing to be part of the conversation but not part of every conversation.

So often conversations get shut down with 'But God's not real' and 'But Muhammad was a paedophile' when not remotely relevant.
